Over 70,000 winners have received Achievement Awards and £65,000,000 has been given to support young people across London and Essex. This year is our tenth birthday! A great milestone, and we are celebrating through the year with events, e-competitions and more... We're so proud of all those who have won Achievement Awards and taken part in our other programmes. Here's to the next ten years!

JPF campaign in the news

JPF campaign in the news

We exist to celebrate young people's achievements and give you a voice. This year we've begun a special campaign to ensure that all the POSITIVE things that young people do are reflected in the media. The campaign kicked off with some research to see what adults think about young people. 1 in 4 adults would cross the road if they saw a young person on the street (YouGov poll, Dec 2009). Why does society have such negative views of young people when we know that the vast majority are active, positive, contributing members of society? Our research got young people’s issues featured on 5 different radio stations - listen to Trudy's interview with Nicky Campbell on BBC Radio Five Live.

How can you get involved? Help us change things and make the adults listen up! We'll be in touch shortly to ask YOUR views on all this. You can help straight away though: show the world what you really get up to and Tell Us Your Story!

2010 “Speak Out“ Challenge launch

The Jack Petchey "Speak Out" Challenge is the world's largest youth public speaking event. On October 20th 2009, the finalists from the 2009 competition went to the House of Lords to meet the Lord Speaker Baroness Hayman and launch the "Speak Out" Challenge for 2010. Headliners, a press agency for young people aged 8-18 years old, went along to report.
